Isabel Agnes Walcutt (née Johnson) was born in Chicago on the 17th of December, 1936. She was educated in Scotland (University of Glasgow), France (Université de Montpellier), and received her Ph.D. in Canada (Université de Montréal). Her career has been that of a teacher passionately devoted to the truths of classic literature.
