The present study was designed to evaluate the anti-stress potential of ethanolic extract of Cassia tora L. seeds (EECTS).Phytochemical and acute toxicity studies were also performed. Preliminary phytochemical screening revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides and tannins etc. In acute toxicity studies no mortality had been found upto a dose of 4000mg/kg. From the data obtained, it may be concluded that the ethanolic extract of Cassia tora possessed a significant antistress activity in various acute stress models.
