This project is about the study of the performance of thermal diesel engines. We carried out an approach on the analysis of the failures of the diesel engines and an approach on the analysis of their performance. Our work was confronted with the reality of the problems at the practical level, in particular at the level of the company E.T.U.S.Tlemcen. Our work began with the definition of the concept of thermal engines and the degradations of the motor organs, particularly at the level of the company, as well as the causes which led to these failures. Following the degradation of engine components, we applied the performance analysis in order to determine the performance parameters of the engines and compare them with the practice (as an example, the studied diesel engine costs about one billion two hundred million cents).
