This book explains about various rapid prototyping techniques available for research and manufacturing. The working principle, basic characteristics, advantages, limitations and applications of each techniques are explained in detail.Being special purpose manufacturing techniques, Rapid prototyping has emerged as a handy tool for researchers and product developers. Since, every RP technique has certain peculiar characteristics, it is necessary to select an appropriate one. For this purpose, two methods are analyzed and applied namely analytic hierarchical process and work system evaluation. Detailed discussion about these methods and working algorithm is explained in this book. The steps to be followed while using these methods for selection of RP technique and their pros and cons are also explained in this text. This book helps to understand basics of RP and factors to be considered while selecting one of the available methods. The concept of using analytic hierarchical process and work system evaluation methods for selection of RP system is demonstrated with the help of three case studies. This book will be useful for getting insight to process selection aspects and methods.
