Zaffar Mahdi Dar graduated in Agriculture from Khalsa College Amritsar and later pursued a Master's degree in Plant Physiology at AAIDU, Allahabad (U.P) earning a gold medal. He then completed a doctoral degree in Plant Physiology at BHU, Varanasi, (U.P) and joined as an Assistant Professor at SKUAST-K in the year 2009.
