From the large collection of his work, this particular short novel has been chosen for study, because this book focuses the multi-faceted skill of the author in dealing with multi-layered themes. The Introduction' introduces the author, his major ideals, works and also the scheme of research with The Stranger. Chapter Two Isolation from Society', explains how the text is labeled as an existential novel', though the author refuses to group it so. The third chapter Isolation from Relations', lucidly provides examples from the primary source to prove the presence of absurdism in the work. The fourth chapter, Isolation from Self' presents the protagonist as a detached character from the society, family and from himself, as he does not go by the set rules of the societal folks. Finally in the Conclusion', the style, narrative techniques, conflict of the work and also a short paragraph on the dissertation as a whole have been included.
