An investigation in the translation of idioms from Persian into English based on bakers model a case of the Blind Owl by Sadegh Hedayat. Moreover an attempt was made to understand what the most frequently used strategies are for translating idiomatic experssion. The researcher collected 97 persion idioms and their English translation. Four strategies including (a) using an idiom of similar meaning and from (b) using an idiom of similar meaning but different from (c) translation by parahrsa (d), translation by omission. Using an idiom of similar meaning but dissimilar from was the most frequently used strategies for translation idioms, and translation idioms by omission was the least commonly used strategies.
