Nick McDonell, 1984 geboren, wuchs in New York auf und studierte Literatur an der Harvard University. Sein erster Roman erschien, als Nick McDonell gerade siebzehn Jahre alt war. Von der Kritik gefeiert, wurde er ein internationaler Bestseller und ist inzwischen von Joel Schumacher verfilmt worden. Heute arbeitet Nick McDonell als Journalist und berichtet aus dem Sudan und Irak.
