The purpose of this research was to evaluate the ability of Air Force published fuel factors to accurately predict the cost of aviation fuel (AVFUEL) for United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) aircraft. The Fuels Automated Management and Accounting System (FAMS) was implemented in 1994 and provides detailed information concerning gallons consumed by tail number for all aircraft in the Air Force inventory.
