While the significance and need for evaluating performance of public sector organizations(PSOs)at all levels is widely recognized, effective criteria for assessing their performance have yet to be developed. The proposed book attempts to propose solutions to the problem by developing an analytical framework for evaluating the performance of PSOs by using relevant case studies. In the proposed model there are four dimensions of performance i.e., effectiveness, efficiency, relevancy and creativity (EERC) that have significant usefulness in seeking to fully capture the performance of an organization. The book addresses an issue that is useful from both an academic and practical point of view. The work can claim methodological innovativeness as it devises multidimensional analytical framework to conceptualize and operationalize organizational performance in the PSOs. In the context of the present debate on good governance, capacity building and institutional development, it is hoped that this work will be policy-relevant. The findings of the study will have practical implications for government policymakers and on many other on-going performance oriented policies and programs and PSOs as a whole.
