Dr Akanbi was born in the Southwest of Nigeria. He attended the University of Ibadan nd Ekiti State University where he obtained his Ph.D in Linguistics. He is presently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.
