If you love someone with Alzheimer's . . . this book is for you. Written with caregivers in mind, this personal story documents one family's journey through the stages of Alzheimer's with their mother, sharing their experiences and frustrations as well as their joys and love. This is a mirror of the Eulers' daily lives, designed to support and uplift other families working through similar situations. How can caregivers move past feelings of guilt and shame? What legal, medical, and social resources are available to them? How can onlookers, friends and family of someone with Alzheimer's care for themselves, or help--even a little? Will they ever find peace? Dieter has some answers which he now wants to share with you.
Autorenporträt
Dieter Euler kept a diary throughout his mother's journey with Alzheimer's, writing down everything he noticed and experienced as he stood by his father, who was the primary caregiver. Dieter's background as a teacher helped him to understand, to analyze and to support the various emotional difficulties his father faced, and now he wants to impart what he has learned with others in similar circumstances. Dieter was also a co-author of two high school French programs. He lives in Ontario, Canada, with his wife, Heather, who was also a high school teacher (Business Ed.) and helped edit this book.
