Alan Bristor spent his working years in three separate professions including human services, loss prevention, and environmental education. He also served in the U.S. Army. He is now pursuing one of his true passions; writing. His first book came about due to his long-term interest in ancient Greek history. Specifically, a college world history course taken during the 1970's provided the catalyst for his interest in King Leonidas of Sparta and the Battle of Thermopylae. A spark was lit by an impassioned professor at that time in his life. The stories and history of Thermopylae continue to engage Alan to this day, and his passion concerning this subject is infused in his writings of this important time period in history.
