High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! American Charities for Palestine (ACP) is a charitable 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC established for the purpose of creating a secure mechanism for distributing contributions that improve the quality of life for Palestinians living in the West Bank. American Charities for Palestine, or ACP, was established in June 2007 by members of the American Task Force on Palestine Board of Directors. ACP's stated mission is to pioneer a new approach for distributing secure donations to "promote the development of the health and education sectors in Palestine; sectors fundamental to the creation of a viable and prosperous Palestinian state, living in dignity, and secure in its ability to contribute to worldwide peace." In August 2008, ACP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ensuring that all recipients of ACP donations in Palestine are fully vetted and approved by USAID. This is the first such agreement between USAID and any private organization, and it was described by USAID Administrator Henrietta Fore as a historic step.
