Autorenporträt
Mel Bartholomew was the founder and inventor of the Square Foot Gardening method and the author of All New Square Foot Gardening, the best-selling gardening book in America for a generation. The guide has sold 2.5 million copies since Bartholomew wrote the book in 1981. He hosted a PBS TV show for five years, and then was telecast for three more years on the Learning Channel and Discovery Network. Bartholomew presided over the nonprofit Square Foot Gardening Foundation, which encourages every household around the world to have a small garden and eat fresh, healthy vegetables that are uncontaminated. He passed away in May, 2016. At the heart of the Square Foot Gardening Foundation beats a mission as vibrant as the gardens it tends: "Square Foot Gardening: Simplifying Organic Gardening and Nourishing Communities Worldwide."  The Square Foot Gardening Foundation champions simplified organic gardening to nurture communities worldwide. It aims to make gardening accessible and enjoyable for everyone through its innovative Square Foot Gardening Method. By breaking down barriers and providing guidance, it empowers individuals and communities to cultivate thriving organic gardens, regardless of space or experience. Additionally, the Foundation fosters connections and community through educational initiatives, outreach programs, and partnerships, promoting sustainability and enriching lives globally. The Square Foot Gardening Foundation grant program uses the royalties earned from your book purchases to continue these programs and initiatives. We deeply appreciate your support in our mission.
