Autorenporträt
Author Elizabeth F. Szewczyk is a writer of poetry and prose. She is the author of two memoirs (My Bags Were Always Packed and One Pound At A Time), four poetry books (This Becoming, On Burying Moths and Calendars, Daybreak Lullabies and Fragments of Survival) and two middle reader books about her dog, Mac (Lottery Dog: As Told by Mac and Lottery Dog 2: The Great Rescue). She is a past editor of the poetry journal Freshwater, and has taught elementary education, remedial reading, and college composition and literature. Her work has appeared in Big Table, The Red River Review, Paper Nautilus, Poetry for Poets, Pulse (American Medical Association), Sanskrit, Shapes, Westward Quarterly, Chanterelle's Notebook. Elizabeth is the current PoetLaureate of Enfield, Connecticut. She was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in poetry and is a recipient of the Connecticut Celebration of Excellence award in writing and literature. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, Tom, and their very handsome rescue dog, Mac.
