Alejandro Vela (born 28 March 1984 in Cancún, Quintana Roo) is a Mexican football striker who currently plays for Cruz Azul in the Primera Division de Mexico, having previously played for Chivas de Guadalajara and Jaguares. He made his debut on 14 August 2004, for Chivas against Atlante. Whilst he was with Cruz Azul they won the Apertua 2010 regular season. His younger brother, Carlos, is a professional footballer currently contracted to Arsenal.
