This book examine the correlation between the SNP +45 T/G polymorphism in the adiponectin gene T2DM and circulating adiponectin levels in Iraqi patients. T45G SNP in the adiponectin gene is associated with type 2 diabetes and adiponectin level which might be mediated through alterations in the expression level and plasma concentration of adiponectin. It can be concluded that the variation in the +45 polymorphism in adiponectin gene might play an important role in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes.
