This action research project reflects an individual's teaching and research journey. The evolution of practice as a University Lecturer in the development and delivery of a distance learning module in a post graduate diploma in clinical education is clear. Improvement of practice as both a practitioner of distance learning and as a practitioner involved in an educational inquiry is evaluated and authentic throughout. There is a balance of theoretical and practical discussion that would assist anyone interested in becoming involved in distance learning, clinical education, practitioner inquiry or action research.
