This book is a series of twelve short skits portraying the events in the life of Joseph, as depicted in the book of Genesis in the Old Testament. Produktbeschreibung
This book is a series of twelve short skits portraying the events in the life of Joseph, as depicted in the book of Genesis in the Old Testament. This would be a valuable resource for those involved in Christian ministry and religious education. These skits could be used as introductions to a series of sermons or lessons about Joseph, or combined into longer skits, or into a play. Narration included with most of the skits provides a brief summary of the previous skits performed, to aid the audience's understanding, if the skits are performed on separate consecutive days or weeks. Staging plans and ideas are also included with the skits, when appropriate. The authors have found that the use of drama greatly enhances the impact of a message, and increases retention of the principles taught. People will remember a story and its' meaning; and the use of drama is a very effective story-telling method.
Autorenporträt
Guy and Teresa Lavergne worked in children's ministry for many years. During that time, they developed many dramas which were performed by and for the families of their church and their community. Their first published book is a collection of skits written during their ministry years. That book is entitled Act Upon a Story: 60 Bible Skits for Ministry. Those skits were written primarily for elementary age children, whereas the skits about Joseph are written for a broader audience. They also plan to publish several Christmas plays in the near future.
