Dr. Gatero has a long experience in library management, starting way back in 1987 as Senior library Assistant in the University of Nairobi. Currently works as University Librarian in charge of academic programmes at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He holds a BSc, MSc and a PhD in Library and Information Science.
