In period of 2005 - 2006 A7 was reconstructed from 25th till 43rd kilometer and from 67th till 85th kilometer. A 2 kilometer strech of the road is currently under reconstruction in Iecava, and reconstruction of other 15 kilometer long strech will start this year. It's planned that in 2014 there will start construction of ekava bypass, thus reconstructing many other stretches of A7. The bypass will be builtto expressway or motorway standards.
