Thus, mathematics is a compulsory subject at schools everywhere. But the procedure of mathematics education is not fool-proof. In-depth research is extremely important for the all-round development of mathematical education as well. In this volume, the author has tried to identify the use of the major mathematical concepts and the constituent elementary concepts by rank-ordering the latter in the final level 10th-standard mathematics examinations of different Indian School Boards through the task analysis technique. A diagnostic test has been constructed and applied on pupils of standard-I scientifically, and the results thereof have been presented.
