The best thing I can think of for us to do is to help our neighbors, respect other people, and speak the truth. If those things are not enough, then the horrors will continue. If those things are enough, perhaps eventually all people in the world will reach a new kind of enlightenment, and the horrible violence will cease. I think such an outcome is attainable only if humanity as a whole goes through some kind of spiritual awakening greater than ever before.
