The author's exploration of marriage draws on a post-structural epistemology to interrogate the truths of marriage, to foreground the interplay between the institution and society as the site of poetic and political struggle, and in particular psychology s influence (on marriage) as a dominant knowledge system. Since registration as a clinical psychologist with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa in 1985, Dr. Vos has worked as a therapist, trainer and lecturer in a variety of contexts. She received her doctorate in Psychology from the University of Johannesburg in 2006. She is currently working as a private practioner in Cape Town, SA
