Can a small seashell reveal the future of Biomimetic studies in architecture? How can we re-experience nature in architectural design; as "a model", "as a measure", "as a mentor" as stated by Benyus; in the age of information? Can we learn more performance based design by studying a humble seashell-Turitella Terebra? This book seeks the answer of these ages old questions first by studying benchmark examples of architecture, by providing a new taxonomic classification regarding nature. Then a general methodology which extends discussions on the interaction between nature and architecture beyond considering nature as a source of formal inspiration to new learning interface has been illustrated. It is shown that there are still many potential discoveries which will shape architecture lie inside a sea shell.
