The current upheavals in African society south of the Sahara are having an impact on the various aspects of medicine observed in this region of the world. Chronic diseases are on the increase and infectious diseases, which have long been predominant, are changing. S. Bamba ha intrapreso studi in scienze biologiche e ha ottenuto un master e un dottorato in parassitologia medica. Professore ordinario di parassitologia-micologia e capo del dipartimento di laboratorio dell'ospedale universitario di Bobo-Dioulasso. Membro dell'Accademia Nazionale di Arti, Lettere e Scienze (ANASAL).
