Efforts are being made yearly by researchers to improve food manufacturing systems through modelling in order to meet the current and future market demands. However, most existing empirical studies are limited to the development of non-modular models which could not accommodate future modifications for multi-process food manufacturing systems. Hence, this research developed a modularized model for a multi-process food production system using Hierarchical Timed Coloured Petri Nets (HTCPN). Gari production processes employed were used as a case study in developing the HTCPN model. The model consists of ten modules which are Peeling, Washing, Grating, Fermentation, Dewatering, Pulverization, Garifying, Cooling, Sifting and Packaging modules. These modules modelled the sequential processes of converting cassava tubers into Gari. This research developed a modularized model which could accommodate future modifications through its associated modules for Gari production processes or otherrelated multi-process food manufacturing system. The model could serve as a reference model for Gari production manager to study and plan working time, based on the quantity of Gari to be produced.
