Autorenporträt
Lona Truding (1901-1985) was born in Vienna. Her grandmother--who had many friends in the worlds of art and music--had a great influence on Lona as a girl. She eventually decided to study at the Conservatoire of Music. She also became a member of the Anthroposophical Society and began studying the works of Rudolf Steiner. In 1939, Lona Truding moved to England, where she took part in the Anthroposophical Society. After the war, she taught music in schools and universities. She traveled frequently to the Goetheanum in Switzerland, where gave lectures on music. She also formed a friendship with Albert Steffen and many other leaders in the anthroposophic movement. In 1966, she underwent the amputation of her left leg, but overcame that disabiltiy and eventually led a relatively normal life. She led a study group and continued lecturing at the Rudolf Steiner House in London, where she died at the age of 84.
