Basic equipment required in the study requires a binocular, a field book to aid identification and a notepad to record time and place of sighting.

Author Ruchi Pandey is a renowned researcher and author. In addition to recent publication, "A Journey with Birds of India" she has also been the author of the books: "The Mystical Science of Microvita", "Forensically Significant Entomofauna" and "Myrmecology of Tapinoma melanocephalum".
