I have written my personal diary and autobiography in memory of my dear and departed mother, Mary Maxine Roome (maiden name). Even though I never had the pleasure of knowing her, I have been told that her greatest desire was to write her story. From having been a ward of the courts and the State of Indiana upon my birth and being placed into foster homes, orphanage homes, including state mental institutions during my younger years, I experienced many frustrations of not knowing who or where was my natural family.
