Jamie Dooks resides in Prince Edward Island, Canada, with his wife and four children. Professionally, Jamie is an economist and university instructor, and holds a graduate degree from the University of Waterloo, ON. Passionately, he is a blogger, speaker and advocate for mental health, spreading the message of hope to those struggling with depression. His latest accolade: author. "A 'Deep Well' Perspective for Healing in Depression" is Jamie's first book which he began writing shortly after being diagnosed with major depressive disorder in 2012. Through research, writing and therapy, he discovered perspectives and learned principles that gave him hope in his mental illness. He discovered his life's purpose on his healing journey: to help others struggling with depression, see what he was able to see, so they too could discover hope in their sickness. This book is a testament to his said purpose, a soap box for Jamie to reach out to the world and spread the message of hope in a disorder characterized by hopelessness.
