ELDER CHARLES B. HARRIS Sr., BSc, civil engineering, is a retired engineer who has been chosen by God to transfer his engineering skills in promoting the work of the Lord. In the past, Elder Harris, who is a devoted Christian, had been accustomed to designing and constructing roads and houses. "For many are called, but few are chosen" (Matthew 22:14). Elder Harris is one of those servants of God who was called to work for the Lord in writing A Daily Journey Through The Year With God. Elder Harris and his wife Victoria G. Harris have been married for 42 years, with four children and five grandchildren. He praises the Lord for His continued blessings upon him and his entire family. Recall that God called Moses from the burning bush to lead his people out of bondage after being in Egypt for 430 years. Moses was a builder, but he was also a great leader who loved the Lord (Exodus 12:40-41). There were other professionals that the good Lord also used in the past to carry out His work, and they are as follows: Jesus, a carpenter; Luke, a physician; Noah, a shipbuilder; Peter, James, John, and others, all who were fishermen. Matthew was a tax collector, Rev. Dr. Abayomi Noibi, an environmental engineer; Rev. Gbegbe Henry Fumbah, a computer engineer; Rev. Dr. William BGK Harris, an electrical engineer; Rev. Theophilus Massaquoi, a pilot; Pastor E. Shadrach Deline, a barber; and the list goes on.
