Francis X. Meehan was Associate Professor of Moral Theology at St. Charles Seminary, Philadelphia, Pa. He received his STL in Theology from the Gregorianum (Rome) and his STD in Moral Theology from the Alfonsianum (Rome). He has taught in Philadelphia archdiocesan schools and served as the Archdiocesan Director of Religious Education. "I would have to single out Thomas Merton," he writes, "as the single most important intellectual and spiritual stimulus in my life."
