Autorenporträt
Gaetano Savatteri (1964, Milan) grew up in Racalmuto, Sicily. In 1980 he co-founded the cultural journal "Malgrado Tutto" ("In Spite of Everything," https://www.malgradotuttoweb.it/), of which he is still an editor and a contributor. He was a reporter for the newspapers "Giornale di Sicilia" and "L'indipendente" before working as a journalist on Italy's Canale 5 and Rete 4 TV networks. He is the author of several books on mafia culture and history, as well as an array of short stories and novels, and he has written for stage and screen. "A Conspiracy of Talkers" ("La congiura dei loquaci) was his first novel and is his first work to appear in English. Today he lives and works in Rome."
