"A Compilation of Birding Observation" is for bird lovers. Steve Dew and Daryl Barnes first met in (2010) and they soon discovered they had a range of interests in common. As well as being similar in age, they both had a love for the outdoors and the wildlife that inhabited the many and varied habitats around where they lived in Mackay. Whilst this was important to them both, it was the interest they shared for the large array of native birds in the area that became the binding factor in a friendship that flourished. During the following ten years, Steve's passion for photographing Australia's native bird life and Daryl's growing passion for writing poems about them developed. This has culminated in the production of this book, "A Compilation of Birding Observation". The combination of Steve's quality photos and Daryl's imaginative and diverse range of story-telling, provides the reader with a variety of very pleasant experiences. If you are a lover of birds then these 46 rhyming stories accompanied by colour photos, is for you.
Autorenporträt
I was introduced to birds in February 2008 when I watched Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfishers feed their chicks. It was about this time that I began to write poems about my life experiences. As my interest in birds grew, writing rhyming stories about them was an obvious progression and it has led me to this, my first book.
