Crabpot was an abandoned cat living rough in a prestigious gated estate on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. She survived by hunting small birds, geckos, and stealing dogs' biscuits. How the cat got her name Crabpot is true, as you'll discover. The cat found safety in our garden. She was skin and bone, filthy dirty, close to death and howling for help. She is now a clean, happily fed, well-mannered and much loved house cat with no desire for the great outdoors.

Autorenporträt
My husband and I are retired and live on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia with our cat Crabpot.Whilst visiting my Mother one day I told her a cat was hiding in my garden. She told me the cat was looking for a good home and each time I visited her she always asked me how the cat was. Of course my husband and I gave the cat a good home and each time I visited my Mother I made up little stories about the cat to entertain her.As my Mother was nearing her 100th birthday her eye sight was failing, she could no longer read or watch television. My stories enthralled her and gave her something to look forward to when I visited. The look of joy and expectation on her face encouraged me to put these stories into a book.I have never written a children's book before so writing this book has been a challenge, especially as I had to learn to paint in watercolors to illustrate the book myself.I started writing this book prior to Covid and did most of the writing and illustrations whilst my husband and I travelled abroad. I am thankful to my husband and friends for their encouragement and especially thankful to a dear friend for her assistance with editing.I dedicate this book to my wonderful Mum and hope the 'Crabpot' stories bring as much enjoyment to children and parents as they brought her.Find me on Facebook and Redbubble under Katrina Ferres.
