Born on 23rd September 1943, from a farmer's family. Studied M.Sc in geology at Annamalai University and achieved distinction. Got merit scholarship for persuing Ph.D in geology from CSIR at New Delhi. Attended the interview for selection to IAS in 1969 at New Delhi. Recruited as Deputy Collector by the TNPSC . On promotion to the grade of DRO, worked as Special Officer of Coimbatore municipality. On elevation to IAS cadre served as: Collector of The Nilgiris at Ooty and Coimbatore Director of Agriculture Managing Director, TWAD Board and Metro Water Labour Commissioner Transport Commissioner Registrar of Coperative Societies Secretary to Government, Agriculture Department ( period of 5 years ) Promoted to the grade of Principal Secretary to Government: Retired on 31/08/2003. Recieved several awards from the government for excellence in my service.
