WENDY CRISP LESTINA is the author of When I Grow Up I Want To Be 60, Do As I Say Not As I Did, 100 Things I'm Not Going to Do Now That I'm Over 50-all published by Penguin/Perigee -and From the Back Pew, as well as Old Favorites from Ferndale Kitchens: The Museum Cookbook. She has been a magazine editor (Datamation, Savvy, Grand, Small Systems World, The Humboldt Historian, Our Story), a newspaper columnist (Religious News Service, the Enterprise), a public speaker on women's issues, and a radio host (KEX Portland, Oregon). In the last decade, she has directed 14 historical documentary videos for the Ferndale Museum, including the award-winning Letters Home. Wendy has a B.A. in English from Whitman College in Washington and an LLD honorary doctorate from Middlebury College in Vermont, given in recognition of her writing and speaking on behalf of women and children. Wendy and John are Airbnb hosts on Waldner Farm, the ranch that is their bit of earth
