For all of the negative words ever spoken in her life, she needs some words of affirmation. She needs some positive words. These words will get her through some of her most difficult days. She needs something positive to counteract those negative words, especially those that she speaks to herself. As an educator, girl and the mother of a girl, I offer affirming words daily to my students and my own daughter. One day, I was convicted, and then convinced that I needed to offer these words to every girl in the world. Our girls need as much positive reinforcement as possible. They have a bleak outlook on life and we have to counteract that negative outlook. Our girls need to be taught, and then reminded that they are powerful, smart, and outstanding. Because of misguided and archaic cultural and societal paradigms, they are often convinced that they are not allowed to be smart or permitted to be thought-driven persons. They are groomed or made to believe that they cannot be anything of significance and they cannot realize their dreams. This is not true at all. They need to be encouraged to dream and they need to be stimulated to achieve. This is the hardest part to overcome when they are older. They have to be convinced that they are who we say that they are and then we have to prove to them that they are capable of all that we say they can and will achieve. Inside these pages are only a few of the affirmations and advice our girls need. This is an outrageous and outlandish start. These words will start them on the positive path to living a life that we speak into them daily. So join me in helping them to be the women they can be proud, since we already are. Affirm to grow; grow to reach; reach to achieve!

She authored Promises, Promises, a novel, out of a need for female heroines of her time. Yielded and Submitted: A Woman's Journey for a Life Dedicated to God is a story of a woman you know, and know well. Yielded and submitted is about you; about us! Yielded and Submitted demands us to address our issues, requires our accountability and provides support through the pages. We will be transformed by the ten topics in the text. Journey with us for a life dedicated to God! Her life philosophy is three - fold: A) ¿What have you done today to invest in your future?¿ B) Reading is essential to your positive contribution to our community; and, C) ¿If not me, who?
