Alvin L. Lesser, after serving in the military, received a B.A. in Accounting from New York University. Alvin was a Certified Public Accountant in New York for over 35 years. He was also a licensed real estate broker and commercial property developer. Alvin has played and taught bridge for over 60 years. In 2011, Alvin wrote Basic Accounting Simplified, an award winning illustrated primer for beginning and struggling accounting students. The following year he wrote Memories of the Catskills: The Making of a Hotel, an award winning memoir about the rise and fall of the "Borscht Belt" in New York's Catskill Mountains. Lesser Lodge, a small hotel started by his mother and father where the author spent the better part of his childhood, lies at the center of this heartfelt tale. His next book, Quick Reference to Bridge Conventions, will be released next year.
