Methods: A quasi-experimental study of a prospective longitudinal type was carried out. The population consisted of patients over 15 years of age with pulp necrosis and chronic dentoalveolar abscess who attended the Alberto Pis Delgado Dental Clinic in Caibarién from March to December 2019. The sample was obtained by non-probabilistic purposive sampling, a total of 50 patients were obtained, who were divided into two equal groups, to which the two substances under study were applied. The treatment was effective both when irrigating with calcium hydroxide and with 5% propolis tincture.
