Es gibt sicher jede Menge Stadtführer und alle haben ihre Besonderheiten. Der „Explorer“ glänzt mit ausgesprochener Knappheit, ist aber dennoch ausreichend informativ und bietet vor allem ein geniales Konzept.
Das dünne Büchleich verfügt über aufklappbare Seiten, die in vierfacher Buchgröße neben zahllosen Kurzinformationen zu allen wichtigen touristischen Interessen auch sehr übersichtliches Kartenmaterial zu den einzelnen sechs Stadtteilen der schottischen Metropole bietet. Auf der anfangs abgebildeten Übersichtskarte kann man schnell den passenden Stadtteil entdecken und zur betreffenden Karte – fast hätte ich „klicken“ geschrieben, so fix geht das – blättern.
Die einzelnen Stadtteile entsprechen sozusagen den Buchkapiteln. Dort werden knapp die Sehenswürdigkeiten vorgestellt, welche sich auf den gut übersichtlichen und lesbaren Karten fix finden lassen. Die Farbfotos vermitteln einen ersten Eindruck und helfen einem, die Gebäude oder Orte in der Stadt zu entdecken.
Selbst Restaurants, Cafés und Einkaufsstätten sind samt ihrer Lage angegeben.
Wer einen Kurztrip in die phantastische Metropole unternehmen möchte, kann das gut begleitet mit diesem knappen aber für den schnellen Überblick ausreichenden Führer tun. Ein tolles Ding.
