Kevin Jefferys is the author of a dozen books on modern British social and political history, including Sport and Politics in Modern Britain: The Road to 2012. Since retiring from his academic post he has specialized in the history of tennis. He is the author of a biography of Fred Perry, and he has an essay on amateur-professional divides in the Routledge Handbook of Tennis: History, Culture and Politics.
