Magnesium Sulphate is being used as anticonvulsant in eclampsia.Very few people have studied the effect of magnesium sulphate in tetanus. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of magnesium sulphate for control of muscle spasms in severe tetanus (grade 3 & 4) and minimize the need for sedation and artificial ventilation.

Dr. Rana Imran Sikander got MCPS Anaesthesiology in 2005 and FCPS in 2007. He worked as consultant Anaesthetist in different field of Anaesthesiology including Cardiac Anaesthesia. He is author of many articles published in reputed journals. Currently he is working in Ireland in Anaesthesiology.His work on tetanus is one of landmarks of his career.
