Weakened by their terrible encounter with Bourneheld's men, Axis and his army are forced to march north as Gorgrael and his foul legions break through Jervois Landing and invade Tencendor.

As the Prophesy of the Destroyer hurtles towards fulfilment, Azhure and StarDrifter strive to unravel the mysteries of the Island of Mist and Memory, where they finally confront the sinister and manipulative WolfStar. Determined to fulfil her own mission, Faraday moves east to replant the ancient forests of Tencendor; and the sentinels begin a lonely journey planned for them thousands of years ago.

But the promise of treachery shrouds the fate of Tencendor's saviours - treachery that threatens to strike in the very heart of Axis and Azhure's family.

Autorenporträt
Sara Douglass was born in Penola, South Australia, and spent her early working life as a nurse. Rapidly growing tired of starched veils, mitred corners and irascible anaesthetists, she worked her way through three degrees at the University of Adelaide, culminating in a PhD in early modern English history. Sara Douglass currently teaches medieval history of La Trobe University, Bendigo and escapes academia through her writing.
