The Translator: Valentina G. Brougher is Professor of Russian Language and Literature at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. She received her Ph.D. in Slavic languages and literatures from the University of Kansas. In addition to numerous articles on Vsevolod Ivanov as well as on Russian literature of the 1980s and 1990s, she is co-translator of an anthology of Vsevolod Ivanov¿s prose, Fertility and Other Stories.
