The German Kaiser s Mounted Police for German Southwest Africa was founded in 1905, after the predecessor consisting of private and military policemen proved to have little success. But because of the emerging war against the Herero and Nama (1904 1907), the plans were never completely realized, and in the end began to take form only in 1907, with the direct recruitment of personnel and the expansion of a network of police stations.
