Benzodiazepines were introduced in the 1950s, and falsely marketed as virtually non-addictive drugs for psychic tension. Time has proven otherwise and these drugs are now considered highly addictive and responsible for one of the worst medical blunders in history. Many people who take benzos, (prescribed for sleep or anxiety), may be unaware that they have become dependant and consequently may attribute their withdrawal symptoms to something else entirely.

Dale Carruth B.A., C.A.C., is a therapist and educator. This book is inspired by her years of clinical practise, research and observation in both private practise and working at Tranx Services, NZ; a counselling and detox service for prescription medication addiction.
