Glyn Maxwell's plays staged in the UK and USA include The Lifeblood, which was British Theatre Guide's 'Best Play' at Edinburgh in 2004, Broken Journey and The Only Girl in the World (both Time Out Critics' Choices), and for Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, Merlin and the Woods of Time (2011), Masters Are You Mad? (2012) and Cyrano De Bergerac (2013). Liberty was staged at Shakespeare's Globe in 2008. His poetry has won several major prizes, and he wrote the libretto for The Firework Maker's Daughter (composed by David Bruce) which was nominated for an Olivier in 2014.
